The inaugural issue of the Journal of Science, Society and Language (JSSL) emerges at a time when humanity stands at the crossroads of tradition and modernity. In the relentless march of scientific and technological advancement, societies across the world particularly Indigenous and tribal communities face the challenge of sustaining their cultural identity while embracing the forces of modern development. This issue of JSSL is, therefore, dedicated to the theme "Bridging Tradition and Modernity through Knowledge".
